"Waiting for Harmony"

1. Settle down -

Settle down

Waiting for that special one to light me up and send me home
I am waiting to settle down
You might be that special one to lift me up when I am down
I am waiting to settle down

’Cause I don’t want to be alone no more
Who wants to be alone at all    (Yea)
And if you’re gonna settle down
It won’t be here on this ground
We are here but this is not my home

Waiting for that special job so I’ll no longer have to rob my parents
Anymore
Waiting for that one big break so I can have and eat my cake
I am waiting to settle down

’Cause I don’t want to be alone no more
Who wants to be alone at all    (Yea)
And if you’re gonna settle down
It won’t be here on this ground
We are here but this is not my home

Waiting for those children too that listen to what I say not do
I am waiting to settle down
Waiting for those golden years when I’ll retire have no fears
I am waiting, anticipating (Oh)

’Cause I don’t want to be alone no more
Who wants to be alone at all    (Yea)
And if you’re gonna settle down
It won’t be here on this ground
We are here but this is not my home
We are here but this is not my home
Life’s a race and heaven is my home

2. Superhero -

Superhero

I wanna piece you together
Fix everything wrong
Fix everything broken
Till heartache is gone

I wanna tell you I love you
In a way that is clear
In a way that is helpful
And lovely to hear

You’re desperate, that’s your reality
My love will never free

 I’ll never be your superhero
I’m just a man, wounded like you

You want love that is giving
Unconditional too
So you won’t have to worry
About who’s loving who

I need someone to care for
Who’ll care for me too
When I’m weak and I’m selfish
Who’ll love me right through

I’m desperate, that’s my reality
Your love will never free

 I’ll never be your superhero
I’m just a man, wounded like you
You’ll never find a superhero
People are frail, they need love too

 Rejection is funny
It’s sad but it’s true
One day you’re rejected
But the reject’s not you

My God offers love
And a sweet thing called grace
So we roll with the punches
And we finish the race

We’re desperate, that’s our reality
His love is all we need

 I’ll never be your superhero
I’m just a man, wounded like you
You’ll never find a superhero
People are frail, they need love too

3. Listen to the Criticism -

Listen to the criticism

And it’s easy to criticize
And it’s easy to turn around and say: “Hey man why don’t you try” (Hey man why don’t you try)

But sometimes
Sometimes

You just gotta listen to the criticism
The criticism hurts but you can learn
You won’t learn a thing when you don’t hear
You don’t hear the heart of the other man
The other man may have another view
Another view can educate you
Or you can live a lie with the blinkers on
It’s easy and it’s nice but it’s not good

Now I see the dust in your eye                                           (in our eye, in your eye)
But the truth is I am a man who is still being purified                  (I'm still being purified)

And sometimes
Sometimes

You just gotta listen to the criticism
The criticism hurts but you can learn
You won’t learn a thing when you don’t hear
You don’t hear the heart of the other man
The other man may have another view
Another view can educate you
Or you can live a lie with the blinkers on
It’s easy and it’s nice but it’s not good

4. A role to play -

A role to play

I love the way she brings her problems to me
And everyone against her is her enemy
She knows that she’s wrong
It won’t take long
Just a woman stuck in emotion
And if I’m not to blame, I guess that gives me a role to play

 Play safe
Listen carefully don’t judge her
Bless her with your warm presence
And she can bless you with her life         (oooooh)
She can bless you

And every now and then we land in a fight
We struggle with the question who is wrong and what is right
I know that I’m wrong
It might take long
Just a man stuck in emotion
And if you’re not to blame I guess that gives you a role to play

Play safe
Listen carefully don’t judge me
Bless me with your warm presence
And I can bless you with my life              (oooooh)
I can bless you

5. I could be wrong -

I could be wrong (but I think I’m right)

I could be wrong, but I think I’m right
And there’s a world trying to prove otherwise
I should go pray; it’s hard to quit the fight
I could be wrong, but I think I’m right

Weren’t you the one who tried to build me with your lies?
And I was on the inside looking out
And every time I was in need of something true
There was you (ooooh pride)

I could be wrong, but I think I’m right
And there’s a world trying to prove otherwise
I should go pray; it’s hard to quit the fight
I could be wrong, but I think I’m right

And when I’m satisfied that everyone knows less
I am left with fallible old me
But there is hope within the word for me and you
It is true (ooooh love)

I could be wrong, but I think I’m right
And there’s a world trying to prove otherwise
I should go pray; it’s hard to quit the fight
I could be wrong, but I think I’m right

There is grey and there is blue
There is false and there is true
God is love and He made you
And the pride that is inside, pollutes that view

I could be wrong, but I think I’m right
And there’s a world trying to prove otherwise
I should go pray; it’s hard to quit the fight
I could be wrong, but I think I’m right
(You’re wrong) No I’m right (You’re wrong) No I’m right (You’re right)
What is right?

6. Maybe deep down I'm Shallow -

Maybe deep down I’m shallow

Maybe deep down I’m shallow
Maybe the lie is true
Maybe I’m just a twisted man
Straight and narrow like you
And I wonder where are we going? Where have you been?
Jesus came to set us free, somehow we choose sin

And I pride myself in being a thoughtful man
I can give as good as anybody can
When all is done, I’m number one
In every thoughtful thing I do

Maybe deep down I’m shallow
Maybe the lie is true
Maybe I’m just a twisted man
Straight and narrow like you
And I wonder where are we going? Where have you been?
Jesus came to set us free, somehow we choose sin

And we love to show the sunshine in disguise
While inner lies the serpent selling lies
So why pretend, he’s not your friend
When you are buying everyone

 Maybe deep down I’m shallow
Maybe the lie is true
Maybe I’m just a twisted man
Straight and narrow like you
And I wonder where are we going? Where have you been?
Jesus came to set us free, somehow we choose sin
Turn away begin
Live and let grace in
